400 kV Hertel - New York

This 56 km underground ±400 kV DC cable line (Québec section), carried out in 2024–2025, is designed to deliver 1,250 MW of clean energy to New York City. To complete the installation, we unwound 90 cable reels weighing up to 58 tonnes each. Every reel contained a typical length of 1,500 meters, and the cable, measuring 126 mm (5 in) in diameter, weighed 31.4 kg per meter.
