Our history
Over 60 years of experience at your service
Founded in 1963 by brothers Roland, Robert, and André St-Arnaud, Arno quickly built a reputation for excellence rooted in quality workmanship and a steadfast commitment to its clients. Now led by the second generation and preparing for the third, Arno remains a proudly family-owned Québec company, where the passion for delivering exceptional projects continues to thrive.
Client satisfaction and the expertise of our people have always been, and remain today, the key to our success.
Our evolution through time
1970
The 70’s marked Arno’s emergence as a leader in the construction of electrical substations.
Today, the company has completed hundreds of projects in this field, serving both Hydro-Québec and the private sector.
From 1980 to the 1990’s
The 1980’s to the 1990’s were decades of major industrial expansion in Québec. During this period, Arno carried out large-scale electrical and instrumentation projects in the pulp and paper, aluminum, steel, and petroleum sectors.
This era also enabled the company to strengthen its position in the hydroelectric market through significant projects in both new construction and refurbishment.
Recent achievements in this sector include the Romaine-3, Romaine-4, and Bersimis-2 projects.
2000s
The 2000s gave Arno the opportunity to expand in the medium-voltage distribution and high-voltage transmission market, completing projects ranging from 120 kV to 735 kV.
To this day, our work in these sectors delivered independently or through partnerships, approaches one billion dollars in total value.
In recent years
Throughout the years, Arno has also developed expertise in numerous related fields, including wireless telecommunications and high-voltage insulated cables.
More recently, the company has distinguished itself in the electric mobility sector, contributing to multiple projects linked to the battery industry and transportation electrification.
